Zusammenfassung: | "The theme of the 2011 meeting looked forward, to the patients who will be treated in the years to come. With the appearance of the metabolic syndrome as a major contributor to morbidity and mortality in both Western and Eastern societies, the refinement of the intravenous use of PAs, and the evolution of intra-arterial approaches, there is increasing interest in how patient characteristics may affect the outcomes of these approaches. This implies that there may be further refinements of these techniques, as well as in ancillary medical care, that will enhance the efficacy of PAs for stroke patients. Certainly, the potential limits of these techniques for an aging population must be understood."--P. viii |
