Zusammenfassung: | The comparative study of the personality cult in primers of the German Empire and the Third Reich gives a symptomatic view of politics' influence on textbooks. One third of the examined primers of the German Empire period deal with the figure of the Emperor in form of illustrations, poems and prose, whereas Hitler appears in 70 % of the analysed primers. The depiction in the primers of the imperial era looks rather guileless and playing down, while the primers of the Nazi period clearly reveal a fanatic indoctrination. |
