Zusammenfassung: | Bangladesh is engaged in a complex developmental struggle, the enormity of which has been amplified by the persistent pressures of population growth on a limited land base. Around 60 per cent of rural households, mostly landless and near landless, are peripheral to the agricultural production processes. Formulation of a correct strategy for agricultural development with respect to poverty has proven to be very complicated as poor people have little or no land under their control. The article gives a brief explanation of the major agricultural problems in rural Bangladesh and focuses on the agricultural linkages of the Grameen Bank and its agrosectoral offshoot organization, the Grameen Krishi (Agriculture) Foundation (GKF).
