Zusammenfassung:"The aim of the interlaboratory test was primarily to offer an improved standardized calibration technique to the laboratories engaged in environmental monitoring. On the basis of the results each laboratory was able to check the properties of its own dosimeter system and to compare its results with those of other laboratories. The tests in detail provided a better understanding of the read-out technique and suggested ways of improving the properties of the dosimeter system used. After evaluation the results of the test programme were discussed. (The main subjects of the discussion are summarized.) In contrast to personal dosimetry, the demands placed on the application of TLD systems in environmental monitoring include long-term exposure in the environment, high accuracy of dose measurements in the low-dose range, low fading and long-term reproducibility of the dosimeter system. The commercially available dosimeter systems attain the objective only to a limited extent and require additional calibration in the low-dose range. In addition, published data on the dosimetric properties of a particular reader type or dosimeter system can by no means be transferred to each individual instrument of the same reader type."-- (Euro abstracts)
