Zusammenfassung:This book's intention is to be neither a textbook itself nor a bibliography of English law; its aims are more modest, as it seeks only to provide necessary first-instance assistance to researchers into English law who have little or no familiarity with the discipline and its materials. It is important to be aware of the distinction between United Kingdom law and English law. This work deals specifically with the latter because for the most part it was English law that was transported to the corners of the world by way of the British Empire. The law of these countries grew specifically out of English law with little influence from Scotland or Northern Ireland. The most momentous change in English law from the previous editions is unquestionably the United Kingdom's exit from the European Union (Brexit).
