Zusammenfassung:The chapters in the book x-ray some topical and pertinent socio-economic issues that are considered critical to Nigeria's quest to realise her developmental goals and objectives. These issues have remained in the front-burner in the development discourse as the country makes what appear to be feeble efforts in its drive to realize its developmental aspirations. The fact that the issues have been in the front-burner notwithstanding, the country has been plagued by problems which have seemed intractable as a result of the palpable lack of requisite political will which remains an absolute imperative in addressing them, with a view to fast-tracking the pace of the country's socio-economic development. The eighteen chapters in this book which set out to address some of these issues were selected in light o the research interest of the Honouree. In addressing these topics, the authors proffered some lessons they consider useful for policies that are geared towards lifting the country out of the quicksand of underdevelopment in which it is presently trapped
