Zusammenfassung:The photographer Aage Fredslund Andersen moved to Aarhus in 1932 and quickly found his camera. Many thousands of pictures of the city's life came out of that: workers in full swing with the day's activities, children playing, fishermen on the harbour, cyclists, bathers, clerks, market traders. Thanks to his photographic efforts, everyday life in 1930s Aarhus is exceptionally well documented, and thus we also get a unique insight into the great decade of industrialization in Denmark. When Aarhus became modern shows 252 photographs from Fredslund Andersen's large production, recreated with the colors that the photographer would have seen through the lens of the camera, telling us about the society that was. The past is very recognizable. It is nostalgic and homely at the same time. Photographer and TV editing technician Arne Kjær Hansen has selected and colored the images. Søren Hein Rasmussen is a historian and wrote the book's texts
