Tag hinzufügen | Zusammenfassung: | This chapter discusses an international political economy (IPE)-enhancement of the developmental state paradigm (DSP) that examines fiscal, production and consumption linkages with attention to industrial policy and intersectoral resource transfers. The chapter focuses on the Ethiopian state’s interactions with industrial development that prioritises links with agriculture, such as the Agricultural Development Led Industrialisation Strategy and how this is impinged upon by foreign capital. It responds to a gap in the literature on developmental statehood on the analysis of the interrelatedness between the state and foreign capital in development processes. It enables us to examine developmental statehood in Ethiopia at a key moment, with an emerging approach centering around a home-grown economic liberalisation agenda. |
