Immunsystem, Interleukin 33, Organschaden, schwere akute Pankreatitis
Acute pancreatitis is one of the most common non-malignant gastrointestinal diseases that leads to hospitalization. It is defined as the self-digestion of the pancreas by its own proteases like trypsin, elastase and chymotrypsin. The early intracellular activation of these digestive enzymes is considered to be the origin of the disease. This leads to cell death of the acinar cells and tissue damage. 20% of acute pancreatitis cases leads to severe course, that is associated with organ failure in the lungs and kidneys. It is known that an inflammatory reaction occurs and that a large amount of cytokines is released. White blood cells infiltrate the pancreas and increase tissue damage. DAMPs are released, which activate the innate and adaptive immune system. It is not well understood how the immune system influences the severe course of acute pancreatitis. There are few theories about organ damage in the lungs and kidneys. In this work, the focus was on organ damage in the lungs and kidneys and the effect of interleukin 33 (IL33) on the cells of the innate immune system and their migration into various organs during severe acute pancreatitis in the mouse model. The severe acute pancreatitis was induced by duct ligation and a single dose of caerulein on day 2 after duct ligation. On day 3 after induction, the mice were sacrificed and the organs were removed for further analysis. On the third day after the induction of pancreatitis, we observed organ damage in the lungs and ...
