Bruxismus
Bruxism is divided into SB and WB and should be viewed as different entities. The etiology of SB is not yet fully understood when it has been established that it is a multifactorial event. The treatment of patients in the dental practice is varied, but mostly symptomatically oriented. Most often, one type of occlusal splint is used in therapy. CES and the previous versions of the GrindCare 4 used in the present study were successful in the treatment of bruxism. The aim of the present study was to assess the effectiveness of the biofeedback therapy of the newly launched GrindCare 4 on a collective of patients in the dental practice. In the present therapy course study, 23 patients were examined. The test persons came from members of the ZZMK as well as from patients who came to the ZZMK with the desire to treat symptoms of bruxism and were invited to participate in the clinical examination. 13 subjects (male / female (= 4/9; mean = 35.0 years) completed the study in a 21-day study protocol. 13 test subjects were also invited to the 42-day study, ten (male / female = 2/8; mean = 36.7 years) were able to successfully complete it.
