These two rivers are or will be very important for the economic development of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan as well as for the Chinese Autonomous Region Xinjiang. Under the strategy of "One Belt and One Road", cooperation on international research on water resource scarcity, influence from climate change and water utilisation has also been established. The perspective of the future of cooperation in relation to the international rivers that run through China is also given in this chapter. |
