Zusammenfassung:One of the main components of the so-called welfare states is Public Pension Systems, whose analysis provides an image of a country's politics, economy, demographics and culture. There is now an intense global debate on the future viability and reforms needed to guarantee pension funding, especially in societies with high life expectancy and low birth rates. Thus, the purpose of this chapter is to present the current state of scientific production on Public Pension Systems through a comparative bibliometric study of indexed documents in WoS and Scopus databases dealing with aspects such as correlation between growth, coverage, overlap, dispersion and concentration of articles. To do this, and through an advanced search by terms, a representative set of 256 articles until 2015 that formed the ad hoc base of the analysis were selected. In view of the results, the conclusion is that although the WoS and Scopus databases differ in terms of scope, data volume and coverage policies, the documents and the results of their analysis are in many aspects similar with Scopus having greater coverage in the specific area of Public Pension Systems by collecting more journals, papers and signatures.
