Zusammenfassung: | Since the introduction of free market reforms in 1986, Vietnam's economy has been growing rapidly. Along with economic growth, the introduction of a market economy has also stimulated significant social change and the proligeration of non-state socio-economic organizations that represent diversified and often conflicting socio-economic interests. The author explores the relationship between the Vietnamese state and interest groups and the factors that have shaped the relationship. He notes that the Communist Party of Vietnam has successfully institutionalized state corporatism as the basic means to control and manage the proliferation of socio-economic interest groups in Vietnam.
