Zusammenfassung:The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank Unified Currency Area has attracted foreign direct investment flows averaging 9.0 per cent of GDP over the period 1986-96. The Unified Currency Area accounted for as much as 62.5 per cent of these flows to the Caribbean region in 1989. Political and economic stability engendered by the type of monetary arrangement are thought to be important factors. The impact of these flows on savings, investment, imports, exports and growth are explored within a system of equations where adjustments for lags were performed within each panel. (DSE/DÜI)
