Zusammenfassung:Far-reaching changes in the forestry legislation since 1994 force the timber companies in the Ivory Coast to carry out afforestation measures for and with the local population in their concession areas. By the example of one of the first pilot projects the authors analyse the execution of reforestation at a village level.
