Zusammenfassung:Recent research in Arsi Region raises important questions about the accuracy of data collected by field studies since the revolution on the size of the land area under the jurisdiction of peasant associations (PAs). It also raises questions about policy recommendations being formulated on the basis of such data. The objective of this article is to present the findings of this research so that it is available to those designing future studies of PAs and those using past studies to analyze patterns of rural development or make policy recommendations to the government.
