Zusammenfassung: | As the Chinese economy moves into its reform and restructuring stage, it is imperative that increasing reliance be placed on interactive market forces. Past adherence to planner-determined prices, as well as malfunctioning of the planning process itself, have resulted in severe distortions with deleterious effects on resource efficiency. Price policy needs more explicitly to be brought to the fore and directed toward steadily expanding the scope of the market regulation and encouraging participants to engage in open and active market negotiation. The article attempts to set forth the rationale and provide evidence for these views. (DÜI-Sen) |
