Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:In a domestic musical scene entitled Häusliche Muzikszene, painted by Johannes Voorhout (1674), a Dutch painter who was for a time active in North Germany, identified are the composer Johann Adam Reincken sitting at the harpsichord, and Dietrich Buxtehude. Identity of Buxtehude is controversial since he could be either the young man sitting nearby the harpsichordist and holding a page of a canon with a dedicatory inscription or the gamba player shown in the background. The composer of the canon is Johann Theile, who is probably also shown in the portrait. The painting is in the collection of the Museum für Hamburgische Geschichte. (RILM)
