Zusammenfassung:The economic crisis affected the labour markets of Latin America by reducing the rate of growth of employment by a deterioration in the quality of jobs created, and by reducing workers' real income. This article examines how these problems have been addressed in research on the region's labour markets. To keep this review manageable, it focuses mainly on the literature produced between 1975 and 1987, and also restricts discussion almost exclusively to urban labour markets
