Zusammenfassung:According to the authors, the end of the Cold War, coupled with recent trends in East and Southeast Asia to replace war and violent nationalism with negotiation and compromise, has presented China and Vietnam with an opportunity to improve their historically adversarial relationship. The authors explore this relationship. They point out that mutual gain through trade and commerce will far outweigh the benefits to be derived from political discord between China and Vietnam.
