The author inquires whether the country is headed for a debt crisis. He explores the build-up in Indonesia's foreign debt between 1981 and 1993, and srutinizes the potential for a debt crisis during Repelita VI. The author compares Indonesia's debt crisis with such crises of some other developing countries and suggests some measures in the Indonesia government should take to reduce the potential for a debt crisis.
