Zusammenfassung: | "The iconography of the Trinity has had interesting and important variations. This study addresses the theme of the Santisima Trindad (paintings and sculptures) produced in New Spain for three centuries of Spanish rule. The book is divided into three sections: The first "lo permitido" group the figures that always have been accepted by the Church and never had a problem being interpreted. The second "lo confuso" refers to the anthropomorphic representations of the Santísima Trindad which to this day create diverse opinions. The last part "lo prohibido" looks at the images that were considered heretical by the Church."--Provided by vendor |
