Zusammenfassung:Epistolary exchange occupies a very important place in the social, political and cultural practices of the pre-modern era, asserting itself as a literary genre in the Renaissance. Throughout the sixteenth century, the Italian printing press specializes in the publication of books of letters, and the publication in 1564, in Venice, of Francesco Sansovino's treatise Del Secretario inaugurates a rich tradition of handwriting epistolary for feather professionals. These editorial trends highlight humanist knowledge rooted in the Quattrocento school and university education on a European scale, whose rhetorical base is based on Cicero's correspondence.--Librairie Droz
