Based on the early research of Yu Huigyeong at Ewha Women's University, Seoul, in the mid-1950s (where the collection is housed), it was subsequently developed by Lee Gyeongja and Jang Sukhwan, and then more recently by a third generation of students - Hong Nayeong and Lee Mi-ryang.
