Zusammenfassung: | The search for a city of gold has motivated the longest and most inhospitable explorations throughout history, journeys that have resulted in colonial and imperial models based on extractivism, on which our unequal society is structured. "Aquí roban oro" (Here they steal gold) was an intervention project on the façade of the Galería Santa Fé and in the vertical connection with the square for which posters in two colors with the slogan will be printed in the set "aquí roban oro", accompanied by an extensive list of objects stolen throughout Colombian history. The posters were adhered to the wall using cassava-based paste following the recommendations of the gallery. The word "oro" (gold) on the posters was printed in yellow ink over the words "aquí roban" (Here they steal) printed in black ink. As the days went by, the yellow ink was erased by the sunlight and the word -as what it represents- was lost before the eyes of the viewer/reader. The list of stolen objects was also printed alternating black and yellow inks to cause the same effect with sunlight, this list was built from historical accounts, news published in the press and a public compilation of complaints. |
