Zusammenfassung:Who am I in my family and who am I without it? Who really needs who? In her new book, photographer Anna Clarén explores the need to be needed? a penetrating portrayal of being part of a context. When the most basic survival needs are met, the need to be needed is what we crave most. We want to feel important in the eyes of others; we want to feel that we have an important role to play. This need is rooted in a longing to contribute to something bigger, beyond ourselves? purpose and direction in life. In her pictures, Anna Clarén examines the family as a constellation, its inherent power to hold people together. An adult usually chooses his family, a child is born into his. It is easy to see the child's direct need for care, but perhaps the adult's need to be needed is at least as great? What demands does the family make, what happens to the integrity and autonomy of the individual? What drives a person in a family constellation and what needs does he want to satisfy? Anna Clarén has been awarded many times for her pictures, which often revolve around close relationships. In 2023, she has a large solo exhibition at Värmland's museum
