Zusammenfassung: | The volume brings together texts written by Costa Rican artist, researcher, cultural manager and curator Virginia Perez Ratton (San José, 1950-2010) in a span of fifteen years (between 1995 and 2009), many of them until today difficult to access or that had remained unpublished. The author dissects her own professional work, sharing unreservedly her highest expectations, but also her greatest sorrows and frustrations around institutional management. Her writing is affective and passionate. Pérez-Ratton's perspective is that of an artist who, despite everything, decided to assume the role of directing institutions and being a curator in order to radically change the conditions of artistic production of her own time. |
