Tag hinzufügen | Zusammenfassung: | An Alphabetical Index of Some of the Stories is an artist's book of photographs of dishes from a Chinese restaurant. In the images, not only the menus but also the hands of the diners were incorporated. Each dish has been recorded in the corresponding menu as if it were the synopsis of a tale told by the respective diner. Something very ordinary, choosing a dish from the menu in a restaurant, is here actually lifted to the higher level of an autobiographical story such as 'The tale of the German bodyguard who never had to fight' or 'The tale of the cloud of soap'. This work is an homage to Georges Perec. The low status of a menu is an invitation to cross borders for Aëgerter, just as the high status of an iconic work of art. (Homepage der Künstlerin) |
