This institution-- in conjunction with the Museum of Art and History of Guanajuato-- has managed to bring Rufino Tamayo's presence to León, Guanajuato. Young people, the artistic community, and the visting public have had the oportunity to view an exposition made up of 125 prints that represent Tamayo's artistic production between 1925 and 1991. This selection of work is also compiled in the catalogue, 'Expressions of a universal spirit: the graphic work of Rufino Tamayo' and seeks to honor the work of this great creator and to celebrate his seminal contribution to art for all, the depiction of identity, and a sense of belonging, the same that will inform generations to come in Mexican society"--Page 7 |
