Zusammenfassung: | Estonian Centre of Architecture is proud to present the catalogue of 'How long is the life of a building'- Estonian national exhibition at the XIII International Architecture Exhibition-la Biennale di Venezia. The catalogue, which includes texts both in English and Estonian language, was edited by Tüüne-Kristin Vaikla, curator of the Estonian exhibition in Venice, and designed by Aadam Kaarma. This catalogue includes intriguing photos as well as essays from a wide spectrum of cultural theorists, writers, historians as well as architects. Estonian Minister of Culture Mr. Rein Lang, curator Tüüne-Kristin Vaikla, writer Tõnu Õnnepalu and art historian Andres Kurg are just a few of those who have contributed to the catalogue. Majority of texts in the catalogue focus on post-II World War Modernist architecture in Estonia. The essays raise questions about the past, presence and future of those buildings.
