Text von Ekrem Hakkı Ayverdi. - Facsim. of Lale mecmuası, thought to be dated 1725. - Includes bibliographical references. - Contains colored photographs of 49 accurate paintings of individual tulips and five other flowers that were recorded in a single manuscript album, entitled "Lale mecmuası" or Tulip collection. The album was handmade with individual paintings of flowers and handwritten script in about 1725, during the reign of Sultan Ahmet III (1703-30) by a court painter called Mehmed. It was made to record some of the varieties of the Istanbul tulip.
