Filmed in California and New York, with an orchestra, in control rooms, at the movieola, and in Mr. Hamlisch's home, this program shows how the film music composer works, including a special focus on the details for providing a score for the motion picture "Starting Over." Interviews with friends and colleagues include actor Joel Grey, Carole Bayer Sager (lyricist of the Bond film song "Nobody Does It Better" and Hamlisch's musical "They're Playing Our Song"), and actress Priscilla Lopez (who had a leading role in "The Chorus Line.")
