From 1934 to 1964 it was the source of cartoon characters known to the world: Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote, Porky Pig, etc.. This program, hosted by animator-filmmaker John Canemaker, introduces some of these artists, their work, their ideas and methods. Reminiscences and explanations by Chuck Jones, Friz Freleng, Bob Clampett, and voice artist Mel Blanc, illustrated by many excerpts from their work. Jones explains how Bugs Bunny's body changed over the years. Blanc shows how he invented the voice with its trademark "eh, what's up, doc?" Here are insights into the origins of Road Runner and Coyote, the frog from "One Froggy Evening", and the never-ending competition with the Disney studios. The artists are proud that such figures as Buster Keaton and Groucho Marx were influences on certain characters, and that they were not made for children, but for a general movie-going audience.
