The paper is a study of U.S.-Ethiopian relations from 1950 to the mid-1960s. The United States and Ethiopia maintained close ties throughout these years despite pursuing distinct and often divergent foreign policies. The paper begins with a brief overview of the concept of clientelism. (DÜI-Ott)
