Zusammenfassung: | Although gender is considered a central category of bipolar social lines of difference, it has so far only been a minor focus of research and teaching of German as a foreign and second language. What challenges do teachers, researchers and learners face in this context? What impulses and changes are necessary to enable conscious, gender-sensitive and gender-appropriate (language) action in German as a second and foreign language? The answers to these questions are as diverse as they are open to individual solutions - which is also reflected in the name of the volume with the blanks in the title Gender_Diversity_Sexuality(s): Gender eludes a simple assignment of meaning and must always be viewed in the context of its inherent diversity, complexity and before all incompleteness to be thought of. The articles in the volume approach the topic of gender from linguistic and cultural studies, from language, literature and cultural didactics as well as from school pedagogical perspectives. They range from reflections on (linguistic) representations of gender and the resulting implications and options for action in various institutional educational contexts to methods such as queering or literary approaches and suggestions for de-dramatizing gender. Furthermore, there are discussions with multimodal media such as the picture book, which are connected with possible analytical instruments for uncovering (intersectional) categories of discrimination.
