Tag hinzufügen | Zusammenfassung: | The article shows the classification systern of regional statistics (NUTS) of the European Union, the practice of regional supports in EU, its priorities, types of regions and the criteria for defining them. It is the very system we should know about and apply in the Hungarian practice. Conforming to it is one of the preconditions for Hungary to join the European Union, however, it is a basic requirement for making use of structural funds serving regional development. + Act. XXI. of 1996 on regional development and regional management already follows EU priorities for regional supports, their system of criteria, and the principles of NUTS when it defines and specifies the regions to be supported, having regard to Hungarian peculiarities. It is served also by the Central Statistical Office through developing its regional information system. GDP computations by country have already been incorporated into the tasks of CSO from 1996 on, and the Office continues to take part in defining target areas of regional development.
