Zusammenfassung:This study focuses on the city of Manizales and its area of influence in the Departamento de Caldas, Colombia. The principal objective is to show the linkage between economic sectors in rural-urban areas which can be illustrated in the structure of coffee production at the regional level by means of an empirical analysis of the "inter-sectoral" and "spatial" mobility of the labor force. At the same time, the author intends to find out the relationship between the coffee harvesters and the workers in the urban informal sector in the zone being studied
