Zusammenfassung:"Halldor Gunnløgsson was never in doubt: architecture is an art form. He maintained this throughout his career, also during the youth rebellion, which dismissed 'art' as bourgeois decadence. He even tried to define what he called 'architectural thinking' - knowing that verbal language cannot encompass art or 'the intangible'. Major works are Tårnby and Fredericia town halls, his own house in Rungsted, which became world famous, Uglegårdsskolen, "Denmark's best school" and others. He was the sharpest intellect among the architects of the time and a champion of the art of building, which he believed the architects themselves had failed. The book shows Gunnløgsson's extensive life's work as the most winning participant in architectural competitions of his time, as an executive architect, teacher and debater. His works and thinking still suggest a confused time."
