Zusammenfassung:The essay examines the artworks made by the sculptor Giacomo Colombo (1663-1731) for various churches in Abruzzo and Molise. While some of these works are already known, they are reconsidered here through the lens of their creation dates. The aim is to shed light on a period, specifically the 1680s and 1690s, which remains somewhat obscure in Colombo’s oeuvre, a time when he was notably active in these regions. The discussion highlights the oldest statues in the sculptor’s repertoire, which also serve as case studies due to their condition. This condition is attribute to varying degrees of heavy repaintings throughout the years.
