Zusammenfassung:Abstract: In order to collect data on specific objects - as for example artworks - we usually rely on expert contributions. The paper is intended to explain alternative procedures called social tagging. It is worth discussing different aspects of such procedures, which allow for superfast database development, farreaching possibilities of data analysis, and most generally show revolutionary aspects of the workflow in the internet. This is the text of a lecture given at the conference "Nuovi sguardi – nuove prospettive" at Ca'Foscari University, october 13th, 2011. The form of the spoken text has been retained.
